A female Lobi sculpture, normally subsumed to a group of carvers of the Passena region close to the earth road Kampti/Batie Sud, which I never visited, because it is called "dangerous" for white men. Anyhow this slender sculpture with its extremly elongated neck is an early exemplare of an old carving-traditionprobably over many genrations, which is still going strong, but more in a derivative style; blackened to brownish patina of heavy, hard sankolo wood, the breasts are fragentary.
