A hand-woven Baule textile, Ivory Coast, featuring tall abstract geometric designs such as violet and yellow lines with an authentic repair in the center of the object, which is almost an "artistic intervention" because it takes up not the direction of the lines, but the showiness of the repair.

"Wounded artefacts", was the name of a show in the Museum Quai Branly in Paris, in 2007, that broaches the unexplored topic of the local repair by the native populations. The exhibition focuses on the African collection of the musée du quai Branly, it shows 110 "wounded artefacts" chosen from the 500 wounded objects of the collection (60 000 pieces).
