A Djenne Maternity, terracotta sculpture, in kneeling position, with feet tucked at the back, holding a child in her arms, the archaic, massive torso surmounted with a forward projecting egg-shaped head, prominent mouth beneath a triangular nose, framed by bulging eyes; varied reddish to grey patina.
