A Lobi couple from an Ivory Coast carver, standing on a blockshaped plinth, the large heads with hiegh arched brows and the protruding mouth seem to be the pecuilarity of this carver. An analogous and excellent couple is published in Scanzi, page 60, 61. Difficult to say, if it is the same carver or the same workshop. It is a problem of rare, old sculptures to subsume them definitivly to a single carver, may be of an earlier period, or a workshop around a mastercarver. In any case this couple isn't a derivative style, it showes a high degree own creativity and authentic designing; hard blackened wood, several agecracks and chips at themouth of the male sculpture.

See also G. Massa and J-C. Lauret, Sculptures des Trois Volta, pages 96 Collection Jean Zuber, Pieces acquises en 1984mà la Galerie Maud et René Garcia. But these pieces are probably not from the same carver, may be a follower.
