A large, weathered Lobi couple, Burkina Faso, collected in der Loropeni region, about 25 km Western of Gaoua, both sculptures partly eroded, with arms carved close to the body, slit-mouths beneath rectangular or conical noses framed by coffee-bean eyes, cap-like headdresses; party heavy encrusted, remnants of kaolin.
