A Marka related Bamana mask of Mali. The stylistic range of the Marka masks is very large. Usually the often heavy Sankolo wood was decorated with metal sheets. In this case, it is aluminum sheets that cover the mouth area and continue in a straight nose, which also has an aluminum cover. The nose is framed by half-open eyes and the cheeks are also decorated with aluminum sheets. On the front head is also a wide metal strip. On the forehead are remains of leather skins. The heavy wood is dark in almost anthracite color.
