A framentary, large sculpture of Youl Bolare with a portable altar on top and remnants of a serpent around the weathered torso; obviously the sculpture stood outside of the house for a long time. The outdoor Bonko shrine with it´s large terracotta sculptures, which nowadays existist only on old fieldphotos, once could have had also wooden sculptures before they were protected in houses against looting, which was also in Bonko a longlasting topic.

Some times ago this sculpture was offered to me for 200,- Euro. I refused it, because the sculpture was to fragemtary. Than I saw this large figure again in the studio of Karim, Bobo Dioulasso, and I bought it for a much higher price in Oct. 2013 and Edmond made a nice "African" plinth for the eroded feet.
