Afemale Voodoo figure in terracotta, Mami Wata cult, Fon, Benin, posted on a two leg stool. Anthropomorphic pottery related to the Voodoo-Mami Wata cult. Mami Wata is a goddess which offers wealth, abundance, fertility... As offerings it appreciates white alcohol, perfume, creams, talc, chalks, soap, cigarettes... one arm was broken, but now nearly unvisible repaired. The face are showing teeth pierced through, as well as the eyes, the object has a strong, authentic presence. An authentic Voodoo object. Mid. 20th century.
