A Dan Wobe mask of excellent quality, carved by an artist, who could be called a "master-carve"r, may be one time the creator of this mask could be identified by name. I don´t know, if the new Franco Scanzi book about the Dan masks is already published, I saw only the conception and the photos of this amazing Dan catalogue when I met this great collector in december 2014 in Abidjan. The mask with its serpent like attachments around the wooden corpus reminds me a little bit at the head of Medusa of the Greek Mythology (Any man or animal who looked upon her was turned to stone) but this is of course my own projection and therefor no danger for a Western collector.
