A female Senufo Rhythm Pounder, Deble, Ivory Coast, standing on a cylindrical base, slender slightly bent legs, the abstract elongated torso with pointed navel surrounded by ornamental scarification patterns, solid conical breasts, sloping rounded shoulders leading to slender slightly angled arms terminating in stylized hands, the hands are clenched to fists resting on the sides of the torso, the wrists are each surrounded by a carved bangle, a deeply incised spinal column, an elongated cylindrical neck supporting an oval head with a pointed mouth beneath a slender nose, high arched brows, closed eyes, circular ears, the coiffure is striated, high and crested; beautiful touch patina, traces of age and ritual use.
