A Benin bronze head with slightly open mouth, framed by cats whiskers that reach to the ears, the nose with protruding nostrils, almond-shaped eyes with iron inlays, as well as on the forehead, where two also heavily eroded iron strips and there are six more vertical scarifications in the bronze. A step-shaped hairstyle, which is often referred in the literature as a haircut of slaves. A circular hole on the Fontanelle, which was used for the placement of an elephant tusk, encrusted partly greenish patina.

The TL-Analysis, made by the Laboratory Kotalla came to the conclusion, that there wasn´t enough sample material. But the material was only taken in the mouth. May be in other parts of the bronze (Eyes, Nose) there could be sample material for a second test. According of the visible, encrustede, geenish patina and the erosion of the iron inlays I guess this is an old piece, which would have a value of several thousand Euro.
