A Mende sculpture of Southern Sierra Leone, this type of figure is appealed to for the community and the individual, Mende sculptures are more rare than the well-known Bundu helmet masks. It is unknown, if the sculptures are also associated to the Sande society one of the rare known societies exclusively organized by women; heavy, hard wood, the feet are fragmentary.
