A Benin bronze dwarf. Everyone knows the famous Benin dwarfs at the Ethnological Museum in Vienna, who are now at the center of the restitution debate because they came from the 1897 British punitive expedition. This specimen of a court dwarf hardly lags behind in the quality of the bronze casting of the famous dwarfs in Vienna. How old this specimen is can hardly be verified without a scientific test. Stylistically, there are hardly any differences. However, we assume that it is a casting of the 20th century.
