An Ibo (Igbo) mask called 'Queen of Women', during the annual, theatrical Okperegede mask dances of Ibo-Izzi, in the Northeast of the Ibo country, play this 'queen of women's masks' a significant role. The present 'Queen of Women' is carved from light, light wood.A good, partly crusty patina outside and inside, proably 1st half of the 20th century; incl. stand provenance collection Abdu Baré, Lomé, Togo.
