A Lobi couple, posted on a rectangular, rounded plinth, man and woman looking forward, the woman in contrary of the man carved as a janus-figure, maybe underlining the bigger importance of the female gender, but it could be also a healing-sculpture with a very specific, but unknown function, in any case an interesting sculpture of a Lobi couple, which I have seen only in one or two other exemplares in the last ten years; encrusted sacrification patina, remnants of kaolin.
