A female Bobo sculpture from the borderdestrict of Mali and Burkina; natural brownish patina; according of Thomas Wheelock (Flying Masks of Burkina; plate 209) the Bobo figurative carvings are rare and not described in literature, one hand turned forward is symbolizing a pregnant woman on the cotrary of a figure with the hands at the buttocks, which shows the woman of the house.(bothe sculptures and the following frangment of a doorlock are from the same carver/workshop)
