A male Baule sculpture standing on a circular base, slightly bent legs with kneecaps, the slender torso with pointed navel beneath a vertical scarification, holding in the right arm a fragmentary kbife or short sward in the other a flywhisk, the thick neck supporting an ovoid, large head with a small goatee beneath an open, rounded mouth, the heavy lidded eyes beneath high arched brows; fine, brownish patina with signs of age and lognlasting ritual use, thr left arm was broken.
