A fine Baule couple, the female sculpture holding a child in it´s arms, the slightly bent legs with prominent patella, the breasts hanging, scarification patterns all over the body, the large, ovoid heads with twoparted, domed coiffure, the male sculpture with a twoparted goatee, touched by both hands; blackened, aged patina of different layers of pigments, traces of use and age. Couple sculptures of this age and quality aren´t easy to find nowadays. Collected 1991 near Dimokoro, region of Bouaké, Ivory Coast
