A female Baule sculpture of the Sakassou region, Ivory Coast, standing on a blockshaped base, with highlighted kneecaps, large hands touching the abdomen, tapering, hanging breasts, the unproportional big head with fine fascial features and an elaborated hairdress; natural occre to reddish surface.
This figure shows once more how big the range of Sakassou figures is. Unfortunately, only a few copies from this region are highlighted in the trade and referred to as "masterpieces". As with Western Provenances, it has the task of keeping the offer small, which is not necessarily associated with the quality.
