A large, fragmentary Sisala sculpture of Northern Ghana; fine brownish, shiny patina. The Sisala are influences by the Lobi on one side and the Moba on the other hand. This sculpture is a good exsample of this liaison between two ethnic groups.
Probably stylistically more Lobi subsumed is a couple from the Schaedler-Collection, Lobi Pair of Male and Female Spirit Figures, Burkina Faso, Paul Tauchner, Munich, acquired at the above auction Karl-Ferdinand Schaedler, Munich.
