A Baule Janus shaped male/female sculpture, Yamoussoukro area, Ivory Coast, connected together at the back, standing on shotened, slightly bent legs, the cylindrical torso ending up in a thick neck, surmounted by a Janus-like head with a single crescent-shaped hairdress in fine, striated manner, the arms carved close to the body, the hands touching the abdomen; shiny, blackened patina with remnants of oxidised oil.
