A Baule mask from the Godé region, Ivory Coast, a pointed mouth beneath a slender nose, ending up in high aged brows, framed by crescent eyes, the cheeks with brass sheets, the temples and the forehead with scarification marks, on topa stylyzed bird, neneath a hairline with metal nails, which are wrapped with fabrics, pierced trough at the rim for a former raffia attachment of the dancer; blackemned to resinous surface, remnants of ritual use, provenance of Amadou Bouflé.
