A Baule mask, Ivory Coast, of oval hallowed form, the chin with a pointed goatee beneath a slender, elongated nose framed by crescent eyes with high arched brows, hemispherical ears, scarification marks on the temples and nose, the face with a heart-shaped facial plane, at the rim a carved zigzag line, wearing incised striated coiffure, surmounted by a Kalao bird, pierced through at the rim for attachment; brown to reddish surface, traces of age and ritual use; provenance Amadou Bouaflé.
