A Dan/Kran monkey (chimpanzee or guenon) mask, Liberia/Ivory Coast, of hollowed oval form, a large protruding snout with six teeth, a powerful, broad nose, deep-set, eyes in form of small circular holes, protruding, rounded cheeks, a bulging forehead, a nail above the forehead for fetish material; pierced through at the rim for attachment; blackend sacrification patina, traces of age, ritual use, and cracks, incl. stand.
