A female Idoma sculpture, Nigeria, standing in an upright position on block-shaped feet, short legs with ornamental patterns, a slender torso with a pointed navel and surrounded by geometric designs, wearing three rings around the waist, arms carved close to the body with hands touching the abdomen, wearing a necklace falling between solid, conical breasts, angular shoulders, an elongated cylindrical neck supporting an oval head with mask-like face and deep linear striations, a wide open mouth, a triangular nose, further ornamental geometrical patterns at the neck and back, capped by an elaborate helmet; brown patina, traces of age, use and several cracks, incl. stand.
