A male Baule sculpture, Ivory Coast, seated on a two leg stool, short legs ending up in prominent buttock, well emphasized genitals, a slender torso with a pointed navel, arms carved close to the body with large hands touching the abdomen, emphasized pectoral muscles and shoulder blades, an elongated neck supporting an oval head, a finely curved mouth, a slender slightly concave curved nose framed by almond shaped eyes with high eyebrow arches, semicircular ears, scarification marks all over the sculpture, capped by a domed, fine striated three parted coiffure with a pigtail at the back; black patina, traces of age, ritual use and several cracks.
