A fragmentary helmetmask of the Koré society, pierced through with circular holes for eyes and mouth, a domed comblike coiffure. The Kore Society is one of the oldest and most prominent Bamana masking societies. Several masks like this one have anthropomprphic shape. The truly exceptional feature of this particular mask, has an exceptional high aged patina and verifys a longlasting ritual use; heavy, hard wood.
