An Ife terra-cotta head. The work is characterized by the typical Ife style features: Around the upper lids of the eyes and the lips is an accented edge, several broad, diagonal scarification marks on the cheeks. The impression is calm and dignified with the mouth shut. On the sides of the multi-part hairstyle, two lumps stick out like little horns; the calotte is damaged, yellowish sintered patina.
