A female Ibeji in the style of the Igbuke family in the city of Oyo, standing on a round, high base of small diameter with two grooves all around, the carved backbone is emphasized, the legs are sturdy, the genitalia are well accentuated, the breasts touch each other, the navel is protruding with scarification marks radiating from the navel to the hips, the shoulders are broad and round, the particularly big and strong arms stand off the body in a flat semicircle and the fingertips rest delicately on the thighs, an elegant long neck supports the elongated head, whose sensual large mouth with well emphasized lips is slightly opened, the nose is very flat with a broad tip and the eyes are big, rhomboidal, with lashes carved all around and bulging outwards, there are four deep horizontal scarification marks and three soft vertical marks on each cheek and additionally three vertical marks on the forehead, the hair-style is formed by four rolls of hair combed upwards, meeting at the top of the head in a central chignon, the Ibeji wears a necklace of brown stones and a red bead and additionally yellow and red pearl strings around waist and anchles and carries around the wrists; antique abrasions on the glutei and on the coiffure, these abrasions, as well as the smoothed faces are caused by frequent cultic use, remnants of camwood between the legs and under the armpits, small remnants of kaolin on the feet and some remnants of indigo blue at the coiffure, lively polychromy in light and dark brown, finely aged washing patina.
