A Gurunsi monkey mask, Burkina Faso, of hollowed oval form, an open snout with two rows of teeth beneath a long nose, almond-shaped closed eyes, which are bordered all around, c-shaped pointed ears, the whole mask decorated with incised and painted lines, pierced through at the rim for attachment; an aged patina with red, white and black pigments, traces of ritual use, incl. stand.
