A rare Baule Kle-Kple Mask, region of Dimbokro, close to Yamousokro, of hollowed form and large proportion, two faces are carved side by side in one block, both faces show the same protruding rectangular mouth with two rows of carved teeth, conical-shaped eyes, zoomorphic ears, in the middle of the mask a triangular hole for vision, the mask capped by curved partly striated horns and pierced through at the rim for attachment; varied brown patina, traces of age and ritual use, damage on the right ear, incl. stand., collecteg by Mohamed Belo Garba

"Goli can be performed both as an entertainment and for the funerals of important men. It is striking but relatively safe, having few complicated interdictions. It is a popular spectacle with villagers but can also be performed on national television, for government dignitaries, or for foreigners."
