A very fine female Egbado Ibeji from Igboglia, standing on a square base, the backbone well carved with the shoulder-blades emphasized, the glutei round, the breasts stand forward, the nipples carved, the shoulders narrow and round, the big hands are joined to the body at the height of the hips, with the tips of the four fingers bent at an angle of about 90 degree, the thumbs are held near the hips, pointing straight downwards, forming an open O with the other fingers, the ears attached closely to the head at the top with protruding pierced lobes at the bottom, the nose long with a broad tip, the eyes wide, semicircular and bordered all around, the hair-style is high, very artistic and crested, above the forehead a band of braided hair runs around the head. The statue is visibly sloping towards the left side. This and the hand position is an identifying element. Particular is that the female wears an apron, because normally the males wear aprons and the females are naked. Rarity grade according to Polo/David: scarce.
