A male Senufo sculpture, from the region Korhogo, village M'Bengué, Ivory Coast, bent legs leading to prominent buttocks, accentuated genitals, a slender torso with large pointed navel, rounded strong shoulders leading to angled arms with one bracelet around each upper arm and one ring around each wrist, the hands resting on the hips, notched back line, the thick neck supporting a head with a strongly projecting chin, the face is heart shaped with a rectangular mouth, a slender nose leading to high arched brows, bulging eyes, semi-spherical ears projecting outwardly, displaying linear scarification marks on the face and the torso, the head capped by a single crested coiffure with a braid in front of the face and further braid at the back of the head; reddish patina, partly shiny, the neck with insect damages, several cracks.
