A Senufo maternity of the Korhogo region, standing without feet on a cylindrical base, holding a child in it´s hands, the slender torso with prominent hanging breasts, the oval head with a protruding mouth, baring it´´ teeth, a domed single crested coiffure; intensive touch patina at the upperarms are showing the purpose of this sculpture: it was used as a Deble, a Rhythm Pounder even on it´s first view it looks like a "normal" Senufo maternity. ( a similar maternity from the same village with minimal differences).
