A male Baule sculpture, from the region Arrah/Bongouanou, village Arrah, Ivory Coast, standing on strong bent legs ending in prominent buttocks, accentuated genitals, a slender torso with a pointed navel, rounded shoulders leading to bent arms touching the braided goatee, the elongated neck supporting an oval head, a mouth with full lips beneath a slightly curved nose with a broad tip, almond-shaped eyes, the eyelids half closed, a high forehead, scarification marks above the bridge of the nose, on the temples and on the neck, hemispherical ears with a prominent tragus, the head surmounted by a domed accurately striated coiffure; encrusted brown patina showing traces of age and ritual use, several cracks.
