Baule couple, Ivory Coast, region Dimbokro, village N´Dakouassikro, seated on two stools which are standing on one base, the female sculpture with a suckling child in her arms, the legs well proportioned, a slender body, on the long neck sits a detail worked head, full lips, a slender nose with a broad tip, the eyelids closed a little, creating a dreamy expression, the eyebrows meet in the middle, scarification marks on the body and face, the man wears a chin beard braided into three plaits, the coiffures are high and elaborately carved; dark patina with incrustations due to ritual use.
