A N'gban mask, region of Yamoussokro, of hollowed oval form, a mouth with full lips beneath a long nose with prominent nostrils, crescent-shaped eyes topped by high arched eyebrows, hemispherical ears set towards the back of the head, scarification marks of varied geometrical motifs on the forehead, temples and above the bridge of the nose, the mask capped by a striated three-parted coiffure with a pointed ornament in the front and a a hair knot at the back, around the chin displaying a zigzag line, the mask pierced through at the rim for attachment; brown surface, traces of age and ritual use.
