A Bamana, Sogo Bò ceremonial staff of a Mere-Head, posted on a four legs stool and framed by a woman and man, seated on a broard rim, the fascial plane is coverd with brass sheets, decorated with circular metal plates and cowrie shells, blackened, partly shiny patina, traces of ritual use. These Bamana schulptures from ritual use become rare nowadays since the war in Mali has taken place. No Western dealer can go to Mali anymore, because the islamistic influence and it´s terror is spread out all over the country. Provenance: Daba Diarra, Segou, collected before 2012.
