A Senufo couple from the M'bengué region, sitting on four-legged stools, thin legs with small feet, the female statue wears a loincloth, both have an amulet around the neck and a bracelet around each upper arm, the arms bent at the elbow, the lower face elongated and the forehead bulging, the nose with a kink, almond-shaped eyes with multi-stepped eyebrows, large animal-like ears, the hair piled up into a kind of mohawk hairstyle, the female statue has a braid that protrudes at an angle into the forehead; some age cracks, dark brown patina, worn in several parts of the body.
