A Baule wedding door, high aged and extremly thinwalled, at the bottom two knifes, above those a panther, the symbol of royal origin, in the middle a couple seated on stools, framed by bracelets, the signs of marriage, and a whip, which in the Baule tradition is a sign of male power. There are many copies and replacements of these famous and highly symbolic objects of Baule Art, but old examples, especially of the first part of the 20th century are extremly rare. The age is determinated by a dense heavy "Lenke" wood carved on two thin plates connected together with metal brackets. It originates from a royal family near the central Bouaké region.
