A male Baule sculpture, Ivory Coast, posted on a round base, sitting on a four legged stool, muscular legs ending in prominent buttocks, a slender torso with a pointed navel, emphasized nipples, straight shoulders, a ringed arm, the hand of which rests on the knee, the other hand holds a fly whisk with bent arm, the torso is decorated with scarifications of different ornaments on the front and back, oval head with a stylized mouth under one long, narrow nose with a broad tip, high arched eyebrows with almond-shaped eyes that are framed, further scarification marks on the corners of the mouth, on the temples, on the forehead and on the neck, multi-part hairstyle with an Iroquois-like structure typical of Baule; Brown patina with signs of age and ritual wear, especially on the right leg.
