A seated Baule couple from the Sakassou region, the legs and feet are elegantly bent, various scarifications on the back, belly, neck and face, the hands of the male statue rest on the knees, on the lap of the female statue sits a child sucking on the mother's breast, she supports the child's back with a loving gesture with her left palm, the right hand grasps the breast and holds it tightly to help the child drink, the child's head is tilted to the side, the mother's head, as well as the man's, rests on a long neck, a small, slightly open mouth has about the same width as the long nose, the root of which merges directly into the eyebrows, the large eyes are completely bordered, the hair is piled high multipartite and very finely worked, the male statue wears a long chin beard; some age cracks, dark brown on parts heavily encrusted patina, remains from many sacrifications.
