A Baule mask, Ivory Coast, of hollow oval form, a pointed mouth beneath a slender straight nose, pierced eyes with lowered eyelids, the eye region painted white, arching brows, scarification marks on the temples, wearing an intricately incised coiffure, on the top of the head two Kalao (Hornbill) birds, pierced through at the rim for attachment; dark brown patina, partly shiny.
