A Bakongo/Vili power fetish figure, with a glass-closed medicine box placed in front of the stomach, painted glass inlays in deep eye-sockets, several attachments like iron blades and hand-forged nails; heavy, hard, reddish wood. Fetishes of this type mostly served to deter and avert the "evil eye"; partly encrusted patina of different layers.
