A Yoruba bowl-keeper, Nigeria, kneeling on a wooden plinth, she is holding the bowl with her two hands, she is wearing a large necklace, her thick cylindric neck is carrying her oval shaped head, with large eyes typical of Yoruba style, her hair is pulled up in a conical shape, scarifications through out her body in geometric patterns, an infant is resting on her back. The bowl, carved to resemble a hen, in supported by two legs and feet, its lid impersonates the hen , carrying a small chick on her back, both animals have a geometric patterns on their backs. Around the female bowl keeper are two naked couples, holding each others hands, in addition to holding small tools and instruments; cracks on the base, and through out the sculpture, metal brackets to support the whole piece, signs of use and age.
