An Ewe venavi couple, Togo/ Ghana, standing on their feet, little black slip on shoes, straight legs, robust arms, long hands, wide shoulders, delicately carved oval shaped heads, serene facial expressions, noses rubbed flat, the eyes eyes closed with eyebrows carved over them, big ears, the hair is pulled back and painted black with small carving to suggest a texture and cornrows on the female sculpture; both with beaded necklaces and the female with additional waistbeads; light wood, some age cracks, signs of ritual use.
